4wrapped around the flag pole  Apr 26, 2011
By Grandpa-Storyteller
My American flag kept getting wrapped around the flag pole! I knew there were some fancy poles with swivel rings, but I wanted to keep the pole I had. These little rotating rings did the trick (about 95% of the time). Too bad they are made of plastic, I may have to replace within a year or so - a metal one of the same design with a ball bearing ring would be well worth the additional cost, but at $3.25 ....

Here is the installation advisory for these 2-part swivels.

1. Make sure that the ring with the thumb screw is on the outside of the center of the pole - the upper ring has the screw to the top and the bottom screw is towards the bottom.

2. Make sure that you have about a 1/4 inch gap between the flanges when you mate them together. Otherwise, the ring with the snap hook will bind between the two flanges and you'll have "WATFP".

3. Do not put them too close together. Ideally, you should have the snap hook connected at a right angle to the grommet on the flag with enough play so the snap hook is not pressing against either flange.

Put the flag pole in the holder with the thumb screws pointed down. If they are pointed up, they tend to snag the flag - "WATFP" again.

4These little things did just the trick!  Aug 02, 2010
By Idontusemynameontheinternet
I've come to realize that even though these little mounting rings keep my flag attached to the poles, there's just no way that they can compete with the wind. It's going to twirl a flag whichever way it wants to and there's nothing that can be done other than go outside and unspin it. These rings do their best though and I can't fault them for their failures.

The real reason I bought them is to secure a grommeted flag to my flagpole when the pole is really only made to accommodate flags that slip directly over the pole. And they do that with ease.

5One of the Great Mysteries of Life: How to Attach a Flag to a Pole  May 16, 2011
By Whitewater "Whitewater"
There are a gazillion flag products out there, but this one of the most useful. Attaching a flag to a small pole on your home can be tricky, especially if there is no rope mechanism. This is a perfect solution. You just slide these rings on your 1-inch diameter pole and tighten them up a bit. The flag easily attaches to the clips which are on the rings -- and presto -- you are flying your handsome flag or banner in less than a minute. The clips are a great solution because the grommets on the flag can be wider than the tops of the screws on the rings, which will get you nowhere. You'll find these very useful. And they're so inexpensive, you might want to get more than one pair.

1Watch what you get!  Dec 14, 2011
By lwd0115
I was anxious to display my flag at my new home, so I ordered a set of these mounting rings. They sent me a pair of USELESS rings with NO HOOKS! Now my flag just sits until I find something worthwhile that I can use!

1Flag still wraps around pole  Aug 11, 2011
By Jason Slagle "Loving Prime"
I bet these work great indoors. Outdoors on the other hand, not so much. Since I put these in place I have had only fleeting glimpses of my Italian flag. Normally it is wrapped around the pole about 30 times and looks more like a children's toy than a flag.

See my uploaded photo in the customer images section above. That is its normal state.
