Second to None! Apr 21, 2005

This is a very good CD of the Coldstreamers done a few years back when under the direction of Roger Swift. The sound quality is good, if a little flat at times, but this takes nothing away from the band itself. A nice selection of marches are offered, mostly Guards and regimental, alonq with standard fare played by most Guards bands in London and about. Those wanting a good CD of marches played by the Coldstream Guards certainly can't go wrong here. It is surprising that this CD is still in print since it is not a recent recording. Grab it while you can. The second volume in this series of European and US marches is also worthwhile.

This Cd is really great. It offers a lot of great british marches and the band itself is great and does a really nice job. This is one of the best Cds of marches out there and I would recommend it to everyone who loves great marches and great music. This Cd deserves the 5 stars and maybe even more.

Coldstream Guard knocks your socks off Jan 30, 2006

If you have never had the pleasure of seeing the Guard in person, this is a far away nest best thing. They are superb and always hve been over the years. The CD also contains the best of European Marches, other than those of the German and Austor-Hungarian Empire. If you love band music, it it a true winner.

If you are although a fan of the legendary Coldstream Guards you just got to buy this CD.It's performed so realistic you get the feeling they be "Trooping The Colour" through your house.

This CD from the Regimental Band of the Coldstream Guards is good quality in terms of sound, in range of items, and in the quality of the playing. The band is well conducted, the items are played at proper tempo, and they cover key themes across the British Isles in terms of national tunes.
