CANADIAN JEALOUSY Feb 04, 2001
By Wade Nelson American patriotism can sometimes seem bizarre to foreingers. Canadians for example. But the strangeness is often rooted in jealousy. At Canadian football and baseball games, we sit on our hands and yawn as someone belts out "O Canada". Lee Greenwood certainly belts out "God Bless America". And when he does, it brings tears to my eyes and makes me wish that Canadians were as "patriotic" and seemed to love our conutry to the same degree. Perhaps Greenwood is over the top at times, but who cares. Sit down and wallow in the emotion and sloppiness of the maudlin aspects of the album. Don't get me wrong; I love the music and passion. I only wish my fellow Canadians has similar passion. I am so jealous. America is beautiful but so is my country. But Americans are indeed fortunate to make music like that found in this wonderful album.

AWESOME Sep 26, 2001
By Jonathan K. Smith When I returned from the Gulf, Lee Greenwood had a concert for us and our families at Marine Corps Base, 29 Palms,CA. There's no way to describe the way we were all feeling, but leave it to say that most of us tough Marines were crying after "God Bless the USA". I bought the tape and have played it every July 4th since. It's so good that now I'm buying the CD.

Great Patriotic CD Jul 31, 2001
My son's fourth grade teacher has this CD and played it for his class quite frequently. My son, who has never expressed much interest in listening to music, came home telling me about it and wanted me to buy one for him. Since it's an older CD, we didn't have much luck finding it in the stores. Thanks to Amazon.com we were able to order it! We really love this CD and I get a kick out of watching my son (who's terribly shy) sing along LOUDLY to all the songs. It's great not only to play around the Fourth of July - but year round as well!

Five Stars Plus Oct 11, 2001
By K. Morgan I bought this CD mainly for God Bless the USA which I have loved since it first came out. I thought I was getting an added bonus when I noticed God Bless America was included on the CD. Let me tell you that all the other tracks are added bonuses. Tears come to my eyes during each and every song. It is quite evident that Mr. Greenwood sings from the heart. His love for this country comes through in every clear, patriotic note. One of the great songs on this CD that I fell in love with was The Great Defenders. As our troops have headed off to defend our country I found this song to be very fitting. The military, in all forms, is truly the great defenders of this wonderful country. I only wish this song would be released on the radio so everyone could hear it. It is definitely an appropriate anthem for today. God bless Mr. Greenwood who is truly an American patriot. And God Bless the USA!

God Bless the USA Sep 26, 2001

Back when this recording came out, and was only available on cassette,I helped a young man find it for a class that he was taking, and he told me he'd love me forever. I wish I could give a copy of it either on CD or cassette to everyone who has been involved or has lost family and friends in the recent events. It pretty well sums up the way that I feel. I am trying to get more copies for my library, and will get a new one for myself. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel uplifted at this time, and hope that it continues to instill the spirit of this country especially at this crucial time. God Bless America!
